Efforts taken by the Embassy after 25 April Quake
Soon after the disastrous earthquake that hit Nepal on 25 April 2015, the Embassy of Nepal, Abu Dhabi called an emergency meeting at the residence of His Excellency the ambassador Mr. Dhananjay Jha and held discussion with the Nepalese community the same evening. Upon patronage and guidance of the Embassy, an informal committee was formed for collecting and managing the relief materials.
The Embassy provided its hotline number for emergency inquiry and also for coordinating with donors, I/NGOs, Nepalese Diasporas and local community in the UAE. The local newspapers Gulf News, Khaleej Times and The National regularly published updated news and views provided by the embassy to them; whereas the Embassy made a public appeal through its official website and face book page to provide donations for the quake victims, both in cash and kinds. The Embassy received overwhelming support from the local people, expatriates and Nepalese community in this hour of national grief.
The Embassy coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates regularly as the later sent more than 1200 tons of immediate relief materials via air cargo to Nepal. The Embassy also collected more than 250 tons of relief materials from more than 230 donors, both individual and organizations/community (list attached), and handed over to the Red Crescent UAE to dispatch to Nepal to be distributed to the earth quake victims in Nepal.
Though the Embassy does not have its separate bank account for the relief fund, we requested to all the well-wishers in the UAE to donate cash amounts directly towards Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund and provide us the copy of receipt, if possible, for official record. As of today, with the active lobbying, continuous engagement and proactive participation of the Embassy with the donors, about NPR 53 million has been deposited (list attached) towards the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

बैदिशक रोजगारमा गएका नेपाली कामदारको आतेजाते खर्च सम्बन्धमा
२०७२ बैशाख १२ गतेको विनासकारी भुकम्पमा परी आफ्नो एकाघरको परिवारको सदस्यको मृत्यु भइ स्वदेश फर्कनुपर्ने वैदेशिक रोजगारमा रहेका नेपाली कामदारहरूलाइ २०७२ जेठ महिनाभर फर्कदा देहाय वमोजिमको अवस्थामा वैदेशिक रोजगार प्रवर्दन बोर्डबाट दुइतर्फी हवाइ टिकटको रकम टिकट पेश गरेपछि भक्तानी दिने ।
१.वैदेशिक रोजगार ऐनको दफा ३२ को स्पष्टिकरण अनुसार एकाघरका परिवारका पति वा पत्नी, छोरा छोरी वा आमा बावु तथा महिला कामदारको हकमा निजको सासु ससुरा समेतको मृत्यु भएको ।
२.रोजगारदाता वा अन्य संघसंस्थाले कामदारलाइ टिकटको लागि सहयोग नगरेको वा नपाएको भनि नेपाली दूतावासले प्रमाणित गरिदिएको ।
३.वैधानिक रूपमा श्रम स्वीकित लिएर गएको ।
४.यसै अवधिमा करार अवधि सकिएर विदेश फर्कनु नपर्ने कामदारको हकमा एकतर्फी टिकट खर्चमात्र उपलब्ध गराउने ।
