The Embassy of Nepal is located Sector W 15-2, Villa No. 13/1, Plot No. 40 Al Karama Street, Al Karama Area Opposite off Mos'ab Bin Omier Mosque and close to bus parking yard (former Eid Prayer Yard).Currently, there is no Consulate in other Emirates of the UAE.

I want to visit Nepal. What are the requirements for obtaining a Tourist visa?
All applicants should fill out a Visa Application Form available on the Embassy's website (click here to download it now). Applicants could also collect the Form from the front desk of the Embassy. Applicant should include the original passport and its copy, a copy of the UAE visa, one passport size recent photograph, a recommendation letter from the employer (if applicable) that states, inter alia, job designation, monthly salary and purpose of the visit to Nepal.
How long does it take to obtain a visa from the Embassy?
Those who submit the application by 1:30 p. m. may collect the visa between 2:30 to 4:00 p. m.
What are the visa charges?
The visa charges are 100.00, 160.00 and 400.00 (AED) for 15, 30 and 90 days multiple entry visas respectively.
Can I extend my visa if I want to stay longer than 90 days?
As a tourist, one can stay in Nepal up to 150 days in one calendar year (January to December). Therefore, visas could be extended for a period not exceeding 150 days from the date of entry into Nepal in one calendar year either from the Department of Immigration, Kathmandu or the Immigration office, Pokhara.
As a tourist, can I stay longer than 150 days continuously in two calendar years?
Yes. Visitors who have entered into Nepal towards the end of one calendar year may prolong his/her stay beyond 150 days by adding the maximum period of another 150 days allowable for the next calendar year.
However, tourists who have left Nepal before the expiration of the visa issued to him/her for the current year shall not be allowed to use or carry forward the unused period of visa to another calendar year.
Is there a provision for gratis visas? Who will obtain such a visa?
The following applicants are entitled to obtain a gratis visa from the Embassy:
· Children under the age of 10 years,
· A 30-day visa for the citizens of some countries on a reciprocal basis (such a visa is issued once in a calendar year),
· Applicants holding Diplomatic and official passports (a visa request letter from their respective Diplomatic Mission or Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a must),
Who are exempt from obtaining a visa to visit Nepal?
Diplomatic and Official Passport (Service Passport) holders of those countries which have signed a mutual visa exemption agreement with Nepal (As of now: People's Republic of China, Thailand, the Russian Federation and Brazil), citizens of India and the UN Lassies Passer Holders don't need a visa to visit Nepal.
Can I obtain a visa on arrival in Nepal in case I got no time to get it from the Embassy?
Yes, but not all nationalities are entitled to obtain visas on arrival. Please make sure that your country is not listed in the category of the country the citizens of which can't obtain visa on arrival. A prior visa is always recommended to avoid any unforeseen last minute hassle.
Which countries are on the list whose nationals will not get a visa on arrival?
Nigeria, Somalia, Liberia, Cameron, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Swaziland, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan and all Travel Document holder applicants. They are advised to apply for a visa at the Embassy before visiting Nepal.
What is the procedure for getting a prior visa for Travel Document holders?
There is no different procedure but the visa processing time is much longer (sometimes over 35 days). Such a visa is issued only after the approval has been received from Nepal. Therefore, visitors holding Travel Documents are advised to apply well in advance.
How long is an entry visa valid for?
A visa issued by the Embassy is valid for six months from the date of issue. The validity of a visa date is computed, however, from the date of arrival in Nepal.
Can I get my money back if I decide not to visit Nepal after a visa has been issued to me?
No. Once a visa has been issued, it will not be amended, revalidated, nor will be the visa fees refunded either.
Do I need to be present at the Embassy to submit my application in person?
Submission of the application in person is always a preferred option. However, an authorized representative can also apply and receive the visa on behalf of the applicant.
It is mandatory for the applicant from Nigeria, Somalia, Liberia, Cameron, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Swaziland, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan and holders of Travel Document to come in person to apply for a visa.
Can I get a transit visa for Nepal?
Yes. The following foreign nationals are eligible for obtaining a Transit Visa for a day:
Transit passengers willing to spend overnight in Nepal on their way to any third country with confirmed air tickets, and
Passengers of an aircraft that had to make an emergency landing in Nepal.
Are there overland entry and exit points between Nepal and India and Nepal and China borders?
Yes. The overland Immigration Offices are located at the following entry and exit points between Nepal and India and Nepal and the People's Republic of China (Tibet)

Do the Indian nationals require visas to travel to Nepal?
Indian nationals don't currently require any visa to travel to Nepal, provided that they prove their nationality (eg. by showing their passport at their entry points).
